Cheese Fondue

This classic fondue recipe is perfect for entertaining guests or a quiet night in with someone special. Breads, apples or vegetables really bring the flavor to life.

  • Serves: 4-6


  • ½ lb shredded Swiss cheese
  • ½ lb shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 tbs cornstarch
  • 1 peeled garlic clove
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tbs. lemon juice
  • 1 tbs. cherry brandy
  • ½ tsp. dry mustard
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Assorted dippers


Coat the cheeses with cornstarch in a small bowl and set aside. Rub the inside of a ceramic fondue pot with the garlic. Pour in wine and lemon juice over medium heat and let simmer. Stir in the cheese slowly until melted. Once the mixture is smooth, add in cherry brandy, mustard and nutmeg and stir.

Serve with breads, apples, or vegetables!
